William David Gore Funeral

On the evening of Monday, November 14, David Gore left his earthly shell and entered into the presence of his Lord. He was surrounded by family and we rejoice with the spiritual legacy he leaves behind.

On Saturday, November 19 t 2 p.m. there will be a funeral service at Anchor Baptist Church. The interment will follow at Pleasant Plain Cemetary. There will then be a food reception at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church.

Obituary

Mr. William David Gore, age 81, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 22, 1941, in Brooksville, SC, he was the son of the late William Leon Gore and the late Victoria Jones Gore. Mr. Gore served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he worked as an educator at Calvary Christian School and then at the Auditor’s office. Mr. Gore was a longtime active member of Anchor Baptist Church who will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-three years, Margaret Martin Gore; daughter, Karen Elise Siratt (Patrick); son, William David “Fred” Gore, II (Kimberly); grandchildren, Emma-Grace Noelle Gore, Madalynn Elizabeth Gore, Gideon David Lundy Gore, Kaylie Elizabeth Youmans, Abigail Lizabeth Youmans, and Paris Lilly Siratt; and two sisters, Jolene Gore Long (Joe) and Wanda Gore Banning. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Anchor Baptist Church with Pastor Carl Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of services on Saturday at Anchor Baptist Church. Committal services with military honors will follow at Pleasant Plain Cemetery. David Gore was a charter member of our church along with his wife and family. He served as one of our first deacons. He helped start and administrate our Sunday School program. He faithfully taught and preached the Word of God for the betterment of all who sat underneath his voice. He led by example. He will be greatly missed.
