Veterans

This year, Veteran’s Day will be observed on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. In past years, we have distributed thank you packets to veterans as they are exiting the Golden Corral restaurant across from the Tanger Outlets. These packets contain several gospel items to help lead the reader to Christ. God has truly blessed this event in past years.

Why do we do this?

Most people are grateful for the show of appreciation and gladly accept the packet. It is an effective way to get the gospel into people’s hands. We also believe that it is appropriate to show honor to whom honor is due. This is an effective way to get the Gospel into the hands and hearts of our nation’s military both active and discharged.

What can you do?

Collation – We need lots of people to help with the assembly of the packets in our church fellowship hall. We will take two days to accomplish this task. A date has not been determined but we are tentatively looking at sometime in September. This is a great opportunity to serve while fellowshipping with God’s people.

Coloring – We include a hand-colored picture in each packet that provides a personal touch of encouragement. Crayons, pens, or pensels can be used. These can be done at the creator’s leisure and in any location.

Distribution – Join us at the Golden Corral restaurant at 10600 Kings Rd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572 on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. Give cordial greetings and words of appreciation to veterans and their families as they enter the building. Offer a packet to those who are willing to take one. The evening lasts four to five hours.

Prayer – Begin praying now for the other volunteers who will be assembling packets and handing them out. Pray also for those vets who will receive the packets, and that the Lord will help many come to know Christ as their savior through this outreach.

We are asking everyone to please pray for the production of the John & Romans booklets that are central to the contents of the packet. The printer is down in production because of the coronavirus. Pray they will be completed and arrive in time to collate with the other items.

Please fill out the involvement form below and let us know how you can help.
