Tabulating the Time

Most people who own a vehicle pay at least a little attention to the odometer on their dashboard. A lower number on the dial causes us to think that we have little to be concerned about at present. The vehicle is good for many more miles.  With each turn of the dial, we imagine the longevity of our trusted transportation is getting shorter. However, even a low-mileage vehicle can have mechanical problems or worse–be totaled in an accident or even stolen.
With each passing calendar year, we each come closer to that moment when our life on earth is over. Even if you are young and imagine you have many years of life ahead of you, the unexpected can happen. Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” http://ref.ly/Ps90.12;KJV
As 2014 has rolled over into 2015, realize that you may not see the dial turn to 2016. Need a New Year resolution? How about, ‘I will live 2015 to the glory of God’? May you experience the Lord’s guidance in special ways this coming year.
