Patriotic Sunday 2020

Important details about our services special event on July 5, 2020.

We regret that our guest preacher, Kenny Smolinsky and his wife Collette, will not be able to join us this weekend due to his contending with kidney stones. However, we are excited about the plans moving forward this Sunday.

We will begin at 10 a.m. with Sunday School for the youth and a lesson for the adults by Dale Dickman entitled “USA: A Great Nation Needing God.” At 11 a.m., our worship service will be filled with patriotic elements and music. Pastor Wood’s message entitled “Free Born” will explore our privilege as both citizens in America as well as our more important citizenship in Heaven. A luscious lunch highlighting fried chicken and potluck dishes will be served in our fellowship hall. Extra health measures will be taken to minimize any potential spread of infection. Lunch will be served by masked and glove-wearing attendants. We will conclude the day with a Jubilee celebration service at 1:30 p.m. with a focus on the blessing of having paid off the church mortgage. There will be NO service at 6:00 p.m.

We are recommending face masks for attendees this Sunday as people enter and move around the facility. Masks will be unnecessary while seated in the auditorium or fellowship hall for lunch.  We will have masks available for those who want them.  Social distancing is encouraged.

We will be broadcasting

Our county government (Horry) has passed a Face Mask Ordinance which requires patrons of businesses to wear a face mask. While churches are not specifically mentioned, the spirit of the law urges us to comply when gathering for worship.

Horry County Face Mask Ordinance as of July 3, 2020

If you expressed an intention to be in attendance for lunch this Sunday and your plans have changed, it would help our preparation to know that. We hope everyone will be able to join us for this special day.
