Humbled by the Honor

This past Sunday, May 23rd, 2021, my wife walked into my study as I was finishing my morning quiet time. She told me, this is a special day. I was then informed that the congregation was going to be honoring my 30 years in the ministry.

I am so thankful for the outpouring of appreciation of the love that was shown throughout the day. I was grateful for the many people who made a special effort to travel and attend. Two pastors from my original ordination council spoke. Dr. Bruce McAllister in the morning service and Dr. Jim McKinnis in the afternoon. Another, Dr. Tony Miller, sent a video. Both my siblings and many other people made the journey to be part of this special day.

Thank you to all the members of Anchor Baptist Church for the beautiful card {see below} and the sentiment of the words in it as well as the very generous financial gift that was enclosed.

Many people spoke very kind words during the open mic testimony time after the noon meal. While it was difficult to receive all the praise it was also very encouraging. My only desire was that Christ is the One who preeminently received the glory and I believe He did. I count myself so blessed to serve my master. I am thankful for the 30 years that he has given me and I look forward to using the remaining years of my life to serve him by his grace.
