During these past twelve weeks of doing church at a distance, maybe you feel like the baseball player who watches the game through the fence of the dugout. You have remained engaged but you long to participate.
Some people will need to keep their distance for a while longer. For the rest of us, “Come on Back!” Even with services and church functions returning to their pre-COVID status, there will still be some adjustments that will carry over (at least for a while).
- Handshake Time on Hold – We ordinarily have time during the first hymn of our morning service for people to walk around the auditorium and greet one another with instrumental accompaniment. You are still encouraged to greet one another and fellowship before and after the services.
- Offering Boxes – Instead of passing the plate in the service, we have put offering boxes in the lobby for people to do their joyful giving unto the Lord. There will still be a few moments of Private Praise & Prayer in each service when sacred music will be played.
- Sanitizing – We always take steps to keep our facility clean but we have been taking extra precautions to wipe down surfaces more frequently. We also have hand sanitizer dispensers available for personal use.
This Sunday (June 7, 2020) marks the restoration of all services and functions at Anchor Baptist Church to their pre-pandemic state. It is such a blessing to see people gradually returning to the fellowship. We hope to see you very, very soon.
