After the Israelites were released from bondage in Egypt, they did not go immediately into the promised land of God’s blessing. They allowed fears and uncertainty to cripple their faith in God. This prevented them from receiving the blessings of God. It is not until the book of Joshua that they finally “cross over” the Jordan River and enter Canaan.
Today, people often enjoy being released from the bondage of their sin when they are saved, but not all Christians “cross over” into the abundant life of God’s blessings. Like the Israelites, sometimes a Christian’s lack of faith prevents them from receiving the fullness God intends for them.
